Salon 21 is pleased to present Faerie Conception, a solo exhibition by Evita Flores, opening to the public on Friday, November 3, 2023. The exhibition includes several oil paintings and works on paper that reflect the fantastical and magical worlds Flores is known for creating.

Evita Flores is an American fine artist based in The Woodlands, Texas with roots in the border city of Laredo, Texas.  She studied and received her BFA at The School Of The Art Institute Of Chicago, with a focus in painting and illustration.  

Her work is an exploration of reality, fantasy, the surreal and the erotic. Taking inspiration from a range of subjects - from her everyday surroundings, popular culture, fashion to religious iconography - she creates fantastical worlds imbued with beauty, mysticism, the occult, the supernatural and the divine. The soft color palette of the works betrays an underlying wicked mixture of the whimsical with the sensual. Her oil paintings and works on paper are a reimagining of fairytale tropes that celebrate both femininity and sexuality.

Aside from having her work exhibited and added to several private collections, Flores’ playful imagery has caught the eye of the fashion industry which has led to several collaborations. Most notably, her artwork was featured in the Rizzoli publication Fairytales by Petra Collins and Alexa Demie, as well as being part of Pamela Anderson’s collaboration with the brand Frankie’s Bikinis.
