Salon 21 is pleased to partner with Planned Parenthood of Greater New York to host an informative and engaging panel of key leaders championing women's reproductive health and equal rights. On Wednesday, October 23rd at 6pm, please join us for a conversation with Abigail DeAtley, Vice President, Individual Giving and Events at PPGNY; Esther Tran-Le, founder of MyAdvo; Hall Rockefeller, founder of Less Than Half; and artist Danielle Kosann. The panel will be moderated by Salon 21 founder Alex Bass in honor of our October exhibition, “The Mysteries That Were Ours,” by Danielle Kosann.

The exhibition explores the transformative journeys women undertake, showcasing an imagined world in which we can thrive without societal boundaries. These worlds are woven with intricate female-centric narratives, and are often tinged with humor and satire. The paintings confront and redefine societal taboos and stereotypes associated with female gathering, transforming these spaces into empowering expressions of identity and community.

This panel will delve into women's health and reproductive rights, addressing pressing issues highlighted by today’s political climate. We will also explore the intersections of women’s rights within the art and design community. Proceeds from this event, along with a portion of the exhibition sales, will be donated to Planned Parenthood of Greater New York, supporting vital services and advocacy.

Abigail DeAtley

Abigail DeAtley is the Vice President of Individual Giving and Events at Planned Parenthood of Greater New York, where she connects incredible New Yorkers with opportunities to fund sexual and reproductive health care for all. Abigail is proud to have long been a conduit between the arts community and Planned Parenthood, including for events like Choice Works, an art auction chaired by Marilyn Minter, Cindy Sherman, and Laurie Simmons that raised over $2.5 million to support the patients, mission, and services of Planned Parenthood locally and nationally. Abigail believes passionately that health care is a human right, and abortion should be available on demand and without apology.

Esther Tran-Le is the Founder of MyAdvo, a community for women with chronic conditions like endometriosis, fibroids, PCOS on a mission to empower women to advocate for their health. MyAdvo was born out of Esther's own experience navigating our isolating healthcare system to diagnose and treat a uterine septum, fibroids, adenomyosis, and PCOS. After speaking up about her conditions and actively seeking out women like herself, she realized so many women experience similar health challenges but live them in silos. A women's health champion, Esther's vision is for every woman to own their healthcare and get the care they want on their terms.

Founder, Salon 21

Alex Bass graduated from Columbia University, majoring in Art History and Business Management, and continued her education at the Sotheby’s Institute of Art in London for Art Business, culminating in the opening of Salon 21 in the fall of 2023. She founded Salon 21 to fill a void in the social experiences available to New Yorkers interested in arts and culture and wanting access to new talent. Through Salon 21, Alex advises on art collecting and offers interior design services. She is also a founding member of the Free Arts NYC Patron Circle.
